Summary

In this chapter, we refreshed your memory on Model 1 and Model 2 architectures for JSPs and pointed out the problems with the bare bone MVC in real life ‚ about how it gets big and ugly. You understood how MVC with configurable controller could solve the real life problem. You also took a first look at the high level Struts architecture and saw how it matched the configurable MVC controller. You also briefly looked at Struts and Tomcat installation and warmed up for the forthcoming chapters.
