SMS scales from a small, single-segment LAN to an enterprise-wide network containing thousands of computers and hundreds of networks. Scaling from small to large networks is achieved by distributing SMS services to computers serving SMS site system roles. Interoperability with Novell NetWare networks is also achieved through the creation of site systems. This chapter explores the site system roles and discusses how SMS provides systems management to NetWare servers and NetWare client computers.
To do the exercises in this chapter you must have completed all exercises in Chapter 2 and followed the directions in "About This Book" so that Computer 2 is a member server (SERVER2) running Windows NT Server version 4.0 and SP4a.
