Using the Freehand Tool

Selecting with the Freehand Selection tool gives you a great amount of freedom in drawing the area you want to select. Use this tool to select irregularly shaped areas of an image.

Using your mouse with the Freehand Selection tool might feel a little clumsy at first. You'll find out later in this chapter how to add to and subtract from your selection if you didn't get it quite right with the Freehand Selection tool.

NOTE

Selecting with the Freehand Selection tool is much easier if you are zoomed in on the area that you want to select.
