Previewing Your Work

The thumbnail preview panes in the Build and Slide Inspectors are useful, but they are no substitute for seeing how your build and transitions will look when you give your presentation. For that, you'll need to play the presentation through.

To preview your transitions and builds

1.	In the Slide Navigator, select the slide from which you want to begin the preview.
2.	Click the Play button in the toolbar. Keynote begins playing the slideshow.
3.	Click the mouse button, or press the right arrow key to advance through your slideshow.
4.	Note any problems with transitions or builds as you watch the slideshow.
5.	When you want to make a change to a transition or build, press the key to end the slideshow, then make the needed changes in the Slide Inspector or the Build Inspector.

Tip

• Choosing a number from the Order pop-up menu in the Build In tab can change the order of objects in the Build Out tab because there is only one Build Order list, not two, and the two tabs share the list.
