A new technology device that relies on subatomic reactions (quantum mechanics) to perform calculations or other computer-oriented tasks . Unlike current computer technology, a quantum computer is quaternary (having four states), rather than binary (having two states). Generally, quantum computers will be extremely small and fast and won't follow the rules of physics used by current computer technology.
