Did you ever see one of those movies where the bad guys plant a bug on the hero without his knowledge and then track him everywhere he goes? That's what happened to you! As you can see in the figure, you are a bull's-eye surrounded by various layers: business, media, advertising, technology, and government. On each layer there is an assortment of players who each want a piece of your hide! To accomplish this they employ technology to spy on you. If a picture is worth a thousand words, the illustration tells the story of this book.
