I’ll be brief here: WMI is in and ADSI is out, as far as managing IIS is concerned. Well, not completely—ADSI is still fully supported by IIS 6, but Microsoft has indicated that WMI is the wave of the future; so, after using the scripts in the preceding sections, you might want to read the short tutorial about how to write WMI scripts in the IIS online help file. But if you’ve worked extensively with IIS version 5, you’re probably already familiar with Adsutil.vbs, a script that uses ADSI to manipulate IIS configuration info. If not, you can read about Adsutil in IIS online help, but I won’t go into it any further here.
