Fitch & Mather Stocks 7

The Fitch & Mather Stocks 7 application is a rewrite of the Fitch & Mather financial services application. It has a multilayered architecture similar to that of Duwamish, which includes facade layers and business rules that can be remoted on separate computers. The front end consists of ASP.NET Web pages. It includes two advanced features: optional support for an Oracle database and use of a COM+ service component (called a "general accounting module"). This component is developed using Visual C++, not C#, which means that Fitch & Mather cannot be considered a true end-to-end .NET solution. The rest of the project is coded in C#.

The dedicated setup program installs the database code and configures the database and virtual directory. The Fitch & Mather login screen is shown in Figure 19-5.
