As I explained in Chapter 9, "Speech Recognition and Voice Control," speech recognition and command allows you to dictate large amounts of text and control applications, all using just your voice. It is good enough that when writing Chapter 9, I did not type a single word. Word is the application in which most would use speech recognition, although it can be used anywhere in Office 2003. Ever wanted to just talk to someone instead of send email? You can. You can dictate to Outlook or include a voice recording with your message (which you could also do in Office 2000). Each application has commands specific to it, so use the What Can I Say? command to determine the commands available to you. |
