Chapter 8. The Rest of the Puzzle
This chapter explains the rest of the puzzle associated with setting up a 3D rendering environment. Subjects such as how to read in the scene from file and how to set up the camera are discussed. The camera is going to be used to render the 3D world to the image plane. You will also design and code each file system object so you can import the scene from file without any hassles. This way, you can increase speed and efficiency when rendering synthetic images. The only task left to do is to incorporate a rendering algorithm. This will be covered in the following chapters. You are going to incorporate ray tracing and photon mapping. Enough talk; let's begin!
