INTRODUCTION

Tables present information in a way that can be quite effective to understand and review. To make a table look even better, you can format it in many ways. If you don't want to take the time to format the table on your own, Word can quickly format it for you thanks to its AutoFormat feature.

TIP

Removing Table Formatting

To quickly remove all formatting from a table, return to the Table AutoFormat dialog box, select Table Normal from the Table Styles section, and then click the Apply button.

TIP

Combine or Split Cells

Select multiple cells to merge, open the Table menu, and select Merge Cells. Any cell data combines. Select the cell to split, open the Table menu, select Split Cells, specify the number of rows and columns in the Split Cells dialog box, and click OK.
