INTRODUCTION

Headers and footers are text that prints at the top and/or bottom of pages in Word documents headers at the top, footers at the bottom. For example, you might want to place your name and the date as a header at the top of the document and the document's filename as a footer at the bottom.

TIP

Header and Footer Toolbar Options

Click a button on the Header and Footer toolbar for each standard entry you want in your header or footer for example, Insert Page Number, Insert Number of Pages, Format Page Number, Insert Date, and Insert Time. You can also open the Insert AutoText drop-down list to select from the various AutoText entries (Created by, Created on, Filename, and so on).
