After you create an object, you can move, modify, or delete it. If the object is a frame, you also have the option of modifying the text or picture within. Before you can modify an object, you must select it. When an object is selected, commands and controls for changing its position and appearance become available. To select an object, you must first choose either the Selection tool or the Direct Selection tool. If a frame is selected, you can add a stroke around its border, add a color to its background, or change its shape using the Rotate, Scale, or Shear tools or the corresponding fields in the Control palette or Transform pane. If a line is selected, you can change its width, color , and style.
