The Design Phase

The Design phase focuses on establishing the Process Action Teams (PATs) to build the organization's processes. The initial steps for this effort are:

  1. Generate the PAT Charters .

  2. Review, modify, and approve the charters.

  3. Generate Action Plans.

  4. Review, modify, and approve plans.

  5. Assign work per the Action Plans.

  6. Do the work according to the Action Plans (generate policies, procedures, standards).

  7. Develop supporting metrics and measurement techniques.

  8. Develop the required training materials.

  9. Track status.

  10. Review/recommend tools.

  11. Facilitate, review, and monitor work.

  12. Update Action Plans.

  13. Attend meetings and support EPG.

We discuss creating the documentation listed above in Chapters 14 and 16.
