Introduction

 < Day Day Up >

WSAA can perform static analysis on distributed applications and the run-time environments in which they operate. The distributed portion of the tool focuses on analyzing primarily Java, J2EE/Web applications, and WebSphere Application Servers (WAS). The analysis builds a dependency graph among the various artifacts of the applications and the external resources on which they depend.

The results of the analysis, including the dependency graph, are stored in the same DB2 database as the MVS assets. You, as an end-user, can explore your applications by searching across the inventory, by browsing inventory views, and by using the various links among the dependent artifacts.

When you view the structure of your application graphically and see the dependencies among the various artifacts, you can easily determine the impact of a given change.
