Defining Alerts, Events, and Tasks

Before we dive into the meat of the chapter of the chapter, see the table that follows for definitions of a couple of MOM entities.

MOM Entity	Definition
Alerts	An indication of a significant event. Alerts are defined by rules.
Events	Any significant occurrence in the system or an application that requires a user to be notified or an entry to be added to a log.
Tasks	Action that diagnoses or repairs a problem.
