8.7 Remote Login


You can also use Rendezvous to connect to SSH, FTP, and Telnet servers that are Rendezvous-enabled. To browse a list of servers on your local network, open the Terminal application (located in /Applications/Utilities ), and select File Connect to Server. The Connect to Server dialog appears, as shown in Figure 8-13. Select the server you want to connect to, set the username (or leave blank to use the account name you logged into your Mac under), choose the proper SSH protocol (if connecting to a Secure Shell or Secure File Transfer server), and click Connect. A new Terminal window will appear, and you'll be prompted for your password (see Figure 8-14).
