Chapter 3: Building the Detailed Project Plan


OVERVIEW

Now that the business case and the associated macro plan and budget are completed you are able to turn your attention to the production of the detailed plan. So far the requirements and tasks generated have all been based on the high-level task groups. Each of these groups now needs to be translated into a detailed task that can be assigned to an individual. For example, you need to translate ˜Build the main building' into the myriad of small activities that will need to be carried out in order for the building to be completed.

There are three main activities that you need to complete to produce the detailed plan:

  1. Produce the detailed-level requirements.

  2. Produce the project schedule.

  3. Produce the project plan.
