Table of Contents
Introduction

This book also includes a supporting web site, which can be found at www.LearnColdFusionMX.com. This web site includes many features to help you learn ColdFusion as you work your way through the book and long after. On the web site, you will find accompanying exercise files, examples of the pre- and postmakeover web sites, tutorials, code samples, ColdFusion links, and much more.

The web site contains the following sections.

Book Support

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information in this book is correct and accurate. However, the final release of ColdFusion MX was not available at the time of this writing. In this section of the web site, you will find late-breaking information about the book. This includes any updates, corrections, and additions that might be necessary.

Supporting Files

Here you will find all the code for the examples used throughout the book. You also will find all the code for the sample web site we will be using for our makeover exercises.

This book is designed with a series of exercises, each of which builds on the previous step. Therefore, you will probably get the greatest benefit by working through from start to finish. If you do not want to work sequentially through the book, however, you can jump in at any section you like. The files available for each step contain all the makeover work done to that point. You can download these files and jump right in anywhere you like.

ColdFusion Language Reference

The site also contains links to the latest, most up-to-date versions of ColdFusion MX language reference documents. These comprehensive documents outline all ColdFusion MX tags and functions, including all required and optional attributes as well as sample syntax.

Additional Tutorials

You also will find a section containing additional tutorials not found in the book. These tutorials cover many features that you might want to incorporate in your future sites, including Macromedia Flash integration, charting, and XML handling, to name a few. If you come up with something groovy and would like to share, you can even contribute your own tutorials to the site.

Online Forums

Here you can share comments, questions, and ideas with other readers and the author.

Links to Other ColdFusion Resources

This section of the site contains a comprehensive list of links to other ColdFusion resources, such as the following:

  • Hosting companies

  • Online periodicals

  • Developer resources

  • Additional tutorial sites

  • User groups and community sites

  • Links to supporting products
