I'm not sure whether Adobe actually invented the concept of filters, or just took the ball and ran with it. (A filter , by the way, is a series of commands that, when applied to a layer or selection, change its appearance in some manner.) It really doesn't matter. Filters are my favorite Photoshop/Elements tools. Elements has all the Photoshop filters on board, and you can also load third-party filter sets to do everything from framing your pictures in your choice of materials to changing the weather in the scene to creating strange abstractions based on fractal geometry. |
