Chapter 12: Deleting WebFacing Projects

Overview

It is supposed to be very easy to delete a WebFacing project, but there is some unexpected behavior in this environment that you need to be aware of, so I have devoted a separate chapter to this subject. Because you need to create a project in order to delete it, the chapter has grown from a simple description of deleting a project into a bit more.

Creating and deleting WebFacing projects is a very straightforward process. After creating and deleting a project, you would expect to be able to run other projects with no problem. However, if you share an EAR file, you might receive error messages during setup or when you run an application in the WAS test environment. This chapter shows you how to handle publishing and run-time errors, and how to recover from these error situations.

Some of the behavior in the WAS test environment depends on the fixpack level of Development Studio Client you are using. I am using Level 5.0.1 for this exercise. If you are on a different level, some of the messages might be different in your environment.
