Again, a lot of emphasis has been placed on the ability to create Common Language Runtime (CLR) executables that can be called from within SQL Server. These executables can be in a number of forms, including stored procedures, functions, user-defined types, and aggregates. I devote Chapter 13 to the discussion of this new type of executable and where they make sense. For now, I just want to mention (in passing) that the Server Explorer can expose paths to the files used to build a specific UDTassuming you have not moved the files. I'll discuss how to use the Server Explorer to navigate to these files and launch the projects used to build them in Chapter 5. |
