The Search field enables you to quickly find songs from the iTunes Library, an iTunes playlist, or a mounted CD.
To focus a search, click the tiny triangle and choose a category that you want to search.
To search
In the Search field (circled, below), type a word or phrase that's part of the artist name, song name, or album name, or composer name.
You don't need to hit the Return or Enter keya list will appear instantly in the Detail window that includes only songs that contain your key words. As you type each letter, the list updates to show the matching results.
For instance, in this example we search for a song by Bob Marley called "Crazy Baldhead." As we type the word "crazy" into the Search field, the results list instantly shows dozens of songs that have "c" in either the song title, artist name, or album name. After we type the second letter ("r") the list changes to show the only two songs that contain "cr." If we continue to type the word "crazy," the results list is reduced to only the songs that contain "crazy."
