Synchronizing Folders


Synchronizing your offline folders is easy after you have created your OST file. When you are synchronizing your folders, you can download a copy of your address book and your schedule. Up-to-date synchronization ensures that your e-mail and offline OST files are accurate. You can also set up the ability to store your public folders in your Offline OST file.

Schedule the Synchronizing of Your Offline Folder

Click Tools, click Options, click the Mail Setup tab, and then click Send/Receive.

Click the Schedule An Automatic Send/Receive Every x Minutes, and select a time in minutes. The Default is 5 minutes.

Click Close, and then click OK.

Set Up Public Folders in Your Offline OST File

Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then double-click the Mail icon in Classic view.

Select your profile, click E-Mail Accounts, and then click Next.

Select the Exchange Connector, and then click Change.

Select the Exchange Server, and if necessary, select the Cached Exchanged Mode check box.

Click More Settings, and then click the Advanced tab.

Select the Download Public Folder Favorites check box, click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.

In Outlook, drag a public folder to your favorites folder to create a Public Folder Favorite.
