Tool 199: Team Process Assessment


Tool description

The team process assessment technique verifies team performance using a Likert rating scale. Areas of interest such as problem-solving activities, team dynamics, and administrative procedures are rated, and results are fed back to the team for the purpose of continuous improvement.

Step-by-step procedure

  • STEP 1 The team leader or facilitator collects all completed team meeting evaluations from the participants. See example Team Mfg.—No. 1 Assessment.

  • STEP 2 Next, all responses are summarized and results are compared to those of the previous analysis. Of particular interest may be the rating averages and any patterns or variations from the expected results.

  • STEP 3 The rating results and suggestions made by participants are discussed at the beginning of the next scheduled team meeting.

  • STEP 4 All completed forms are dated and saved for pattern analysis.
