ColdStorage

ColdStorage is a set of XML Web services that enable users to upload and download information from a "virtual hard drive" on the server. As with the Favorites Service (described at the end of this chapter), Microsoft's MSDN Web site includes a series of design-to-deployment white papers that cover every aspect of development from envisioning the system to profiling it. These white papers are a treasure trove of minor insights and are generally more interesting than the actual solution. The setup program for ColdStorage configures the required XML Web service virtual directory and creates the SQL Server database.
