Privacy Options for Older Teens

As we explained earlier, MySpace now allows all users to create a private profile that can been viewed by only their friends. Users who are 16 years or older by default have public profiles, so if you have older teens, there's a good chance that their profiles are public. We suggest that parents talk with their teens about the plusses and minuses of having a private profile (see "Privacy Is a Double-Edge Sword" in Chapter 5).
