Select the text with the formatting that you want to clear.
Open the Edit menu and select Clear, Formats.
Notice that all the formatting is cleared (except for highlighted text).
INTRODUCTION
Suppose you've formatted your text but decide you don't want it to be formatted after all. Instead of unchecking options in dialog boxes or deselecting toolbar buttons, you can simply indicate that you want to clear the formatting of the text you select. This can be particularly convenient if you have tabbed between formatting and don't want the empty tab space to display any formatting.
TIP
Clearing Contents
To quickly remove document contents for example, to clear all the cells in a Word table select the text you want to clear and then open the Edit menu and select Clear, Contents. This is the same as pressing the Delete key.
