Over the last several years, Flash has gained the respect of programmers as a tool to develop applications. The majority of these applications are used in Web browsers and loaded over the Internet. There are a few amazing software packages designed to assist you in creating Flash applications designed to run outside the browser as a standalone executable file (on Windows). These programs let you add functionality to your Flash applications that you couldn't get from authoring the file from within Flash. In this lesson, you'll learn about some of these programs, and experience working with one of them.
