Playing the DVD

With your DVD created, your work is done and it's time to enjoy the project.

To play the DVD disc in a consumer DVD player:

Insert the disc into your DVD player and push the Play button. Use the remote control to select which movies to play.

To play the DVD disc on your Mac:

  1. Insert the DVD disc in your DVD-ROM drive or SuperDrive-equipped Mac.

  2. Depending on how your computer is configured, the DVD Player software may load automatically when the disc is inserted. If it doesn't, locate and launch DVD Player (Figure 16.12).

    Figure 16.12. If DVD Player doesn't start up when you insert a DVD disc, locate the program in your Applications folder. Double-click its icon to launch it.

  3. Click the Play button on the DVD Player's floating Controller, or choose Play from the Controls menu (Figure 16.13).

  • To turn off your Mac's preference to automatically launch DVD Player when a DVD disc is inserted, go to the CDs & DVDs pane of System Preferences. Choose a different behavior from the popup menu labeled "When You Insert a Video DVD."

  • You can play the DVD on PCs running Windows, too. The steps for launching the player software and viewing a disc should be similar.
