Working with Your Text

In the strictest sense, all you need are your four keyboard arrow keys and the BACKSPACE key. Characters you type will be inserted, meaning that characters to the right of the cursor position will be shifted to the right to make room. The BACKSPACE key deletes the character before the cursor position.

The remainder of this section describes the functions of other keyboard keys and provides helpful line-mode commands. The first important item is a warning that you might not be able to trust the labeling on your keyboard keys.
