Route filters are very useful tools for controlling the behavior of your internetwork. In large internetworks, route filters are nearly indispensable . Yet for all their utility, they still can only allow or disallow routes. Chapter 14, "Route Maps," introduces route maps, powerful tools that not only identify routes but also actively modify them.
