welcome FROM HILLMAN CURTIS

I'm sitting in my small office in NYC, listening to The Arab Strap, a Scots band on Matador Records. It's summer ”hot and sticky, long nights. To the right of me is a book on the video artist Bill Viola. I have tacked to the wall an image designed by the London firm The Attik and a flyer designed by Jose or one of the other fine designers at Razorfish. I'm flying out of my head on espresso and thinking about how to describe this book its function and its goals.

Over the last year, I have been fortunate to have established myself and my company, hillmancurtis.com, as a creative force in the small, but rapidly expanding, world of motion graphics on the web. I've done it through very hard work, but also through the development of a process ”both from the standpoint of a designer, as well as someone who really understands how to get the most out of Flash. It's this process that permeates every aspect of every design we turn out here at hillmancurtis.com. It's this process that I hope to communicate with this book.
