In the United States and Canada, there are two companies that you can register with to take the Security+ certification exam as well as other certification exams: VUE and Prometric. You can register online or call either company. To register with VUE online, visit http://www.vue.com/comptia or call 1-877-551-PLUS (7587). To register with Prometric online, visit http://www.2test.com or call 1-800-909-3926. You can also register with either company and get worldwide registration information directly through CompTIA.

VUE and Prometric both support different testing centers. Who you register with will depend on where you want to take the test. You are required to register at least 12 hours before you take the test. If you decide to cancel after registering, you must call 12 hours before your scheduled test time to cancel or you will forfeit your money. Your best bet is to pick a target date for taking the exam and then give yourself at least 30 days to study this book.
