No project takes place in a vacuum. There are reports to produce, presentations to give, budgets to create, and, inevitably, status reports to prepare. In Chapter 14, you learned how to share information among projects. In this chapter, you will share Microsoft Project data with other applications, as well as enrich your projects by adding objects such as charts, graphics, and video.
We’ll start by explaining how to import data into Project from several different applications, using Project 2002’s new Import Wizard. You’ll explore the differences between linking and embedding objects in Project, and learn about cutting and pasting. We’ll then move on to exporting data from Project and the many possible methods of formatting your data. Topics covered in this chapter include:
Working with file formats and predefined maps
Using the Import and Export Wizards
Working with data created in another application
Sending data from Project to another application
Converting, linking, and embedding data
Inserting objects into your projects
