Chapter 15: Others Category

Clicking the Others category tab will take you to a page of tools that don’t really fit anywhere else. This includes a small module that allows you to run any system command from a button, a Java file manager much like Windows Explorer or the Gnome File Manager tool, a Perl modules manager, a system and server status module, and a Java-based telnet client.

Command Shell

The Command Shell is a simple HTML-based shell, allowing you to execute arbitrary commands by entering them into a text entry field (Figure 15-1). The page reloads with the output from the command displayed. This module can be extremely useful if you must perform some command-line tasks, but cannot access a SSH or telnet session to the machine. Because the Command Shell is entirely web-based, it can be used on any machine that Webmin can be used on.
