Tracking Tasks

Outlook also enables you to track tasks that you assigned to others. You can even receive status reports related to a task that you have assigned to another person or persons. To track tasks, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options ; the Options dialog box appears. Click the Preferences tab.

  2. On the Preferences tab, click the Task Options button. The Task Options dialog box opens (see Figure 14.7).

  3. To automatically track the progress of new tasks you assign to others, make sure a check mark appears in the Keep Updated Copies of Assigned Tasks on My Task List check box.

  4. To automatically receive notification when an assigned task is complete, select the Send Status Reports When Assigned Tasks Are Completed check box.

  5. After you've made your selections, click OK to close the Task Options dialog box, and then click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Color Your Task List You can also set color options for overdue and completed tasks on the Task Options dialog box. Click the Tools menu, select Options , and from the Preferences tab, click the Task Options button.
