NARROWING YOUR TOOLBAR SEARCHES

If you use the Search field that appears in the top-right corner of the Finder window's toolbar, you have a little more control over your search than you might think. For example, now when you type in the Search field, you're enabling Spotlight. As soon as you start typing letters, Spotlight begins searching. But if you look in the Finder window, below the title bar, you'll see a gray bar of buttons that potentially speed up your search by letting you narrow (or expand) areas in which you want Spotlight to search.
