The respondents rated family support as extremely important, and indicated that they receive a high level of support from their families in areas such as housework, childcare, and on an emotional level. While they are willing to make family sacrifices for career advancement, the respondents are in strong agreement (88 percent) that male colleagues do not make the same sacrifices for career advancement.
The majority of the respondents (89 percent) agree that the existence of an "old-boys" network gives men an advantage and that women do not network enough (76 percent). Respondents prefer to network at functions (57 percent) and conferences (49 percent), while launches (33 percent) and the Internet (34 percent) are less popular.
The role of support organizations is rated highly, with 77 percent indicating that it is important to very important. They overwhelmingly (89 percent) indicated that they will support female network organizations, with preferences being electronic forums (51 percent), monthly meetings (51 percent), and mailing lists (49 percent), while chat rooms (13 percent) are clearly unpopular.
