A method is a function that an object can do or perform. After the method's function is assigned, it can be referenced as a method of that object. A good analogy for remembering the role of methods in ActionScript is to think of nouns and verbs. Verbs are to nouns as methods are to objects, with the object being the noun and the method being the verb.
