Manage Your Medicine and Store 911 Data

Before leaving the topic of personal well being, there's one last "lifestyle application" to touch on. I'm referring to OnTimeRx by AmeliaPlex, which is a medication and emergency information management application for your Treo. OnTimeRx not only serves as a central repository for your allergies and important health conditions that need to be revealed in an emergency, but also serves as a reminder system for medicine you take regularly. The OnTimeRx application manages your medications by first allowing you to enter the different medications you take regularly, along with the dosage and frequency. Figure 15.8 shows an example of entering a specific medication into OnTimeRx.

Keep in mind that the specifics of the diet that you chart in Diet and Exercise Assistant are determined by the diet plan you selected when you initially set up the application.

After you've entered a medication, OnTimeRx begins tracking it and reminding you when you must take it. A log is then maintained to keep track of when you've taken the medicine along with any dosages you've missed.

The other important facet of the OnTimeRx application is its management of emergency health information, such as drug allergies and any important health conditions you might have. This information is entered into OnTimeRx as "911" information, with the idea being that someone could access this information in an emergency to find out more about how to treat you. Figure 15.9 shows the resulting 911 screen in OnTimeRx, which shows a couple of health conditions that would be worth knowing in an emergency.

You can enter as much or as little information into OnTimeRx as you'd like. Of course, this information is valuable only if people know how to access it, so make sure that people close to you know how to launch OnTimeRx and tap the 911 button (located on the main OnTimeRx screen) to access your emergency information.
