Saving a Presentation

Click the Save button on the Standard toolbar; the Save As dialog box appears, with a default filename for your presentation.

Click the My Documents icon on the Places bar, or use the Save in drop-down list to locate the folder in which you want to save the file.

Type a descriptive name for the presentation in the File Name field.

Click the Save button; the presentation is saved.

INTRODUCTION

PowerPoint provides more than one method for saving presentations. You should often take advantage of at least one of these. You need to save your presentations so you can work on them later, or so you can use PowerPoint to show your slides to others. Unsaved presentations will be lost in the event anything happens to your application or computer. So, be sure you save often while you are working.

TIP

Save in Options

If you don't want to save your file in the My Documents folder, click the down arrow next to the Save in field and maneuver through the directories to save the file in a different location.
