Click the Close (x) button on the document window's menu bar. If you have made any change to the presentation, PowerPoint asks you to save the document.
Click the Yes button if you want to save recent changes. (Click No if you don't want to save, or click Cancel to return to working on the file.)
INTRODUCTION
When you finish working on a presentation, you can close it. Closing a presentation does not close the PowerPoint application. After you close a presentation, you can continue working with other open presentations or create a new presentation.
TIP
Additional Close Options
As with most Windows applications, PowerPoint provides many ways to close a presentation. For example, you can press Ctrl+F4 to close the active presentation. You can also open the File menu and select Close.
TIP
Closing the Document Window
When you click the Close button, be sure you are clicking the one in the document window, not the application window. Otherwise, you will close the PowerPoint application.
