Whether you are new to Microsoft's Content Management Server (CMS) or you have deployed the earlier product, implementing CMS will involve getting your existing site into this new tool. In the following sections, we discuss the steps necessary to migrate your site and how to upgrade from CMS 2001. In the case of a migration, we assume that you do not have CMS 2001 installed; therefore, we will show you the additional steps that you will need to accomplish to successfully complete a migration from your current Web site to CMS 2001. If you are upgrading from CMS 2001, we assume that you've largely completed the non-CMS-related work before implementing the 2001 product. However, since CMS 2002 uses an entirely different framework for developing sites, we still recommend reviewing the migration section, even if you are already running CMS 2001. |
