Summary

In this chapter, you saw how Oracle Database 10g was able to assist the performance analyst in capturing, tuning, and implementing changes that can improve the performance of the database as a whole using the SQL Tuning Advisor and the SQL Access Advisor. The OEM interface as well as the APIs were described. We also listed some of the possible pitfalls of using these advisors and how to avoid these while still making use of the advice provided by these advisors.
