To get the tweak, visit the Web site and head into the Downloads section (you need to register for a free account on the Web site first). Find the version of the Your Account tweak that matches your version of PHP-Nuke (search the Downloads section for "YAT" or "Your Account"). This is really, really important. While the folks at NukeScripts are (as of this writing) working on a "universal" tweak for any version of PHP-Nuke, right now you need to download the tweak that matches your version of PHP-Nuke. Also, if you later upgrade your version of PHP-Nuke, you'll need to upgrade your version of the Your Account tweak to match; however, upgraded tweak versions usually follow new PHP-Nuke versions by a month or more. Also note that many of the tweak versions are listed as "alpha," meaning they're not officially finished. Most Web site administrators use them anyway, but just be advised: If your Web site is critical to your income or well-being, this software might not be ready for prime time. Okay, you've downloaded the tweak (let's call it YAT, for shortsounds funkier). Remember…
Before you go any further, now's the time to back up your Web site and its database. If you're using your own server, follow whatever usual backup procedures you have. If your site is hosted by a hosting company, ask them how to perform a backup. Remember that PHP-Nuke's Administration menu includes a Backup Database item that will download a backup to your local computer. |
