The database diagram is a way of representing the schema graphically. SQL Server has a built-in diagramming tool. You can create several named diagrams to document your database structure. The diagram is more than a documentation tool. It is an active designer for the database. You can create tables and relations right in the diagram and the database will be updated when the diagram is saved.
