A wireless WiFi hot spot allows people with laptops, PDAs, or other devices equipped with WiFi network cards to connect to the Internet by connecting to the hot spot. There are thousands of hot spots in coffee shops, fast food restaurants, hotels, and airports, and collections of hot spots cover entire sections of cities. You must pay to connect to many hot spots, although an increasing number are free.
