Chapter 7. Creating a PDF Presentation

IN THIS CHAPTER:

38 View a PDF in Full Screen View

39 Incorporate Multimedia in a Presentation

40 Set Presentation Preferences

41 Include Page Transitions

Acrobat's capability to convert almost any document into PDF format and then display that PDF file in a full-screen mode opens a whole new set of opportunities for creating compelling onscreen presentations. No longer are you limited to presentations that consist of nothing but one slide after another. Use Acrobat to quickly and easily convert a business plan into a presentation; to display a collection of family vacation photos; or to create a full-screen slideshow-style presentation from virtually any document or collection of documents, including photographs, audio, and video.

TIP

If you are creating a PDF version of a PowerPoint slideshow, you can save yourself some work by selecting the Change Conversion Settings command in the Adobe PDF menu in PowerPoint and selecting the Save Slide Transitions in Adobe PDF , Save Animations in Adobe PDF (if you are using slide animations), and Convert Multimedia to PDF Multimedia (if you are incorporating multimedia) options.

The key to a nice presentation is to ensure each page is of the same size and resolution. Use a program such as InDesign to get the pages a consistent size , and then use Acrobat's Create PDF from Multiple Files feature to bring all the pages into one document. When all your pages are collected, you can use a variety of transition effects to add visual interest or use the same effect for each page if consistency is what you want.
