As you have seen, this chapter covered a lot of ground. We've provided a brief introduction to setting up the web server IIS and also walked through each server-side technology, learned how to install each, configured each for Dreamweaver, and even created a sample page using each of the server-side technologies. In the next chapter, we'll move away from server-side technologies and into the realm of databases, database design, and database development. We'll introduce the three databases used in this book: Access, SQL Server and MSDE, and MySQL. We'll discuss installation, configuration, and how to build the Dorknozzle Employee Store database using the database of your choice. |
